Scott Krady on Impact, Trust and Building Category Leaders
Scott Krady
Founder, Magnitude Inc.
Magnitude Inc. was not built to chase vanity metrics. It was built to drive outcomes.
When Scott Krady talks about Magnitude, he speaks in absolutes: success, impact, leadership. The firm exists for one reason — to help companies and their executives achieve the outcomes that matter most to them, whether that is going to market or going public, raising capital, growing assets under management or scaling into a category-defining business.
“At the end of the day, we want to help companies succeed in growing their business. Full stop,” Scott says.
But success, in his view, is not generic. While every company Magnitude works with operates in a specific category, the goal is always the same: to become the authority in that space. When stakeholders think about, for example, RIAs, family wealth preservation, cybersecurity, legal and compliance counsel, or enterprise technology, Scott wants Magnitude’s clients to be the first names that come to mind.
Why “Magnitude”
The firm’s name is not a branding exercise; it is a philosophy.
“Magnitude means impact,” Scott says simply.
His career — and his life — have been shaped by the idea of impact: impacting people both personally and professionally, offering guidance, mentorship and perspective drawn from lived experience. That belief carried directly into Magnitude’s founding. After years working in house, Scott witnessed firsthand one of the most persistent frustrations executives had with outsourced marketing and communications: the inability to clearly demonstrate ROI.
“If we’re spending a million dollars, what are we getting?” he remembers them asking.
Scott wanted Magnitude to feel different. Not transactional. Not abstract. He wanted clients to feel that the work was moving their business forward in meaningful, measurable ways. Magnitude, in his words, exists to magnify a company’s story — and to make that story matter.
A Nonlinear Path to Entrepreneurship
Scott’s career path was anything but linear. Raised in Miami, he always wanted to be a writer, though practicality intervened early. He chose a path that would guarantee employment, eventually earning an MBA while never losing his curiosity or creative instincts.
That curiosity led him to journalism. After receiving a scholarship to NYU for business journalism, Scott worked as a reporter, interviewing leaders and learning how decisions are made, how companies evolve and what motivates people to act.
“I have always loved understanding people’s stories: what makes them tick, and how they got to where they are.”
Journalism satisfied his intellectual curiosity, but entrepreneurship emerged organically. People consistently told Scott that they trusted him — that he listened, understood their challenges and took the time to think through real solutions. He realized that trust, more than anything, is the foundation of the business he wanted to build.
“This business is about trust,” he explains. “We’re entrusted with helping organizations solve complex storytelling, marketing and growth problems.”
Operating in Stealth & and What Comes Next
For nearly four years, Magnitude operated largely in stealth mode. The firm did not aggressively market itself, relying instead on referrals, relationships and the network effect created by strong work.
Ironically, Scott notes, Magnitude spent years helping other companies become better known while remaining a well-kept secret itself.
“That changes now,” he says.
In 2026, Scott wants Magnitude to tell its own story more deliberately. He believes more companies need to understand what marketing, communications, storytelling and growth can look like when executed by true partners — external experts who constantly bring fresh POVs while operating with the mindset and seniority of an internal team.
Magnitude’s differentiator is not tactics. It is perspective. The firm’s senior teams are comprised of communications pros and subject matter experts with diverse backgrounds who all understand the pressures executives face because they have lived them. They have worked in complex businesses, navigated growth challenges and collaborated closely with entrepreneurs and business leaders. They have interviewed and written about burgeoning business owners and Fortune 500 execs. And they have brought people together in the form of signature events all over the world that have fostered dealmaking and lasting connections.
Showing Up, Especially When It Matters
One theme that comes up repeatedly is presence. Scott does not believe in remote-only relationships or surface-level engagement.
“We just show up,” he intones.
Magnitude was founded in 2021 in the immediate aftermath of the pandemic lockdowns. From day one, Scott has emphasized the importance of in-person interaction and connections. He holds a clear conviction: the best business relationships are personal relationships, and these relationships lead to better business outcomes.
Scott is often surprised by how rarely people in the PR/marketing sector show their commitment to building lasting bonds. He and his staff are constantly seeking opportunities to meet clients in person, attend events and support organizations during critical moments both good and bad.
What Truly Sets Magnitude Apart
Magnitude is not transactional. It is relationship-based.
Scott is explicit about this distinction. The firm does not simply execute what clients ask for. It challenges them, brings new ideas, offers innovative perspectives and pushes beyond what clients think is possible.
“We want to raise the bar for what this industry can do.”
Scott believes that for too long, expectations in marketing and communications have been exceedingly low. Traditional mar-comm agencies work to raise brand awareness, then walk away. Alternatively, Magnitude approaches this work as businesspeople first — businesspeople who use state-of-the-art marketing and communications strategies to achieve loftier goals: building trust with stakeholders, filling the sales funnel and measurably improving the bottom line.
Industries and Impact
Magnitude focuses primarily on three verticals:
- Enterprise technology
- Financial services firms (including RIAs, public and private asset managers, and others) plus professional services firms, (e.g., law, accounting and consulting)
- Adjacent emerging sectors such as fintech, impact investing, greentech and select biotech and healthcare sectors
Across all of them, the common thread is boosting leadership. Magnitude helps high-potential companies with strong ideas bring them to life in ways that highlight their leadership position and resonate with target audiences.
The Industry’s Biggest Untold Story
According to Scott, the greatest untold story in the marketing-communications industry is possibility. Too many companies have been trained not to expect much from mar-comm firms. The bar has been set too low; and subpar expectations and results have followed.
Magnitude’s mission is to retrain that mindset: to show, one client at a time, that this work can be different, bigger and more impactful than most leaders have come to expect.
“It requires imagination. It requires outside-the-box thinking. And it requires believing that this industry can do much more,” Scott says. “If you asked our clients, they’d tell you that we’re advisors, and I think that’s accurate because our mandate is to solve problems.”
